This 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190SL Roadster presents beautifully in a classic black exterior with a tan leather interior and black canvas top. First displayed to the public as a prototype at the New York Auto Show in 1954, The 190SL was bestowed with admiration and praise for its gorgeous body design. Although it was referred to as a roadster, the 190SL was far more sophisticated than its British rivals, and it was fitted with such amenities as wind-up side windows, high-quality leather seats with multi adjustability and the choice of an optional hardtop and a premium sound system. Although the 190SL cost half as much as its sibling 300SL, it was by no means an inexpensive car in its day. Mercedes-Benz already had a reputation for quality that was burned into the psyche of the American buying public, and the 190SL did not disappoint with its reliability, durability and longevity.
