When you picture a performance vehicle, there are a handful of automaker names that come to mind. To name a few, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Mercedes-Benz are all well-known brands that are distinctly European. Amidst the European domination of the performance vehicle industry, Japanese automaker Honda gave thought to a sports car of their own codenamed the HP-X (Honda Pininfarina eXperimental). Honda had seen the mind-blowing power of vehicles like the V8 engined Ferrari and wanted to take a stab at designing a similarly herculean car that didnt budge on the reliability and affordability for which the Honda brand is known. Enter the NSX (New Sportscar eXperimental). As the first car to ever be mass-produced with an all-aluminum body, the NSXs contribution to the world of sports cars was nothing less than ground-breaking. In the span of a decade, the NSX would place Honda on the map as a sports car designer in their own right. This chassis number 000079 contains an all-aluminum 3.2L V6 engine, limited-slip differential 5-speed transmission, and Hondas VTEC (variable valve timing and lift electronic control, which is a system that results in higher performance at high RPM and better fuel efficiency at low RPM. The NSX provides an eccentric feel among sports cars, as might be expected of a car that originated on the other side of the world, due to its F-16 fighter jet-inspired cockpit styling. Furthermore, this 2002 model is a member of the post-facelift NSX family, which was only produced for 3 years before the NSX model as a whole was discontinued in 2005. Ultimately, the NSX delivers on a performance car that holds its own without drawing an excessive amount of unwanted attention. Specs: All-aluminum body, All aluminum 3.2L V6 engine, Double wishbones, coil springs, and anti-roll bar suspension, F-16 fighter jet-inspired cockpit styling, Lifted front bumper, VTEC variable valve timing, Limited-slip differential 5-speed manual transmission, Titanium connecting rods on engine, Gold colored NSX calipers, High-intensity-discharge (HID) headlights.
